Optimizing Distribution and Visibility for a Premium Beverage Brand

A premium provider of bottled water and wine sought a 3PL provider in Miami to assist with their warehousing and distribution operations across Florida, the Southeast and the Caribbean. Specifically, the company needed flexible, food-grade warehousing capable of scaling up and down as needed to accommodate peak season volumes. Additionally, the company required inventory visibility and tracking for quality assurance and to ensure on-time delivery of their products.

The company turned to NXTPoint as their exclusive 3PL provider in Florida due to our expertise, food-grade facility and WMS technology that was able to integrate with their EDI. Throughout the project, NXTPoint secured 6,000 pallet positions for the customer, with 23 truckloads of product moving in/out on a daily basis.

Challenge

During the project, the customer worked to complete upgrades to a manufacturing plant in the Miami area, which forced the closure of a couple of their production lines and required product to be relocated. Because NXTPoint has multiple facilities in the area, we were able to move and accommodate an additional 1,000 pallets of product while following customs regulations and remaining USDA compliant to preserve product integrity. NXTPoint was also able to flexibly scale up and down to meet demand during peak periods, as well as the pandemic.

The Results

NXTPoint achieved all of the client’s goals throughout the project and has maintained and grown the partnership ever since. Due to the integration of our tier-1 Körber One WMS with the client’s EDI, NXTPoint was also able to meet all of the client’s KPIs around inventory accuracy and RMA tracking while following a first expired, first out (FEFO) inventory management process.

NXTPoint has been recognized as the customer’s only 5-star facility in 2025, having met all of the goals and KPIs set by the client while having zero injuries reported for an entire calendar year. As their only 3PL
provider in the state of Florida, NXTPoint also maintained efficient, effective drayage and distribution operations due to the proximity of our facility to PortMiami.
